1. Measure

Measuring your windows is the first step to getting the perfect fit. Don’t worry, we’ve made it simple with our easy-to-follow video guide. With clear instructions, you’ll have precise measurements in no time, setting the stage for blinds that fit like a glove.

Please supply your exact measurements as we deduct a small amount to make sure it will fit perfectly. Our standard brackets that come with the blinds can be screwed up into the window frame, sideways into the frame and also be put on the outside of a window frame.

2. Order

Choose your ideal blinds by selecting the style, colour, and any customization options to suit your space. Need a little help deciding? We’re happy to send you a sample to ensure it’s just right. Once you’ve placed your order, we’ll get to work crafting your custom-made blinds with care and precision. Once you have entered in your blind and added it to the cart, you can scroll down and change the measurements to your next blind and everything else will stay the same.

Your blind will come with everything needed to install (apart from a drill!) The blind will fit inside the measurements you give with around 2-3mm of wiggle room.

We have options below in the shop to have a double blind - just follow the prompts. We can also split any blinds especially if you have a larger opening and need two blinds side by side. There will be a finger width gap between any split blinds.

3. Install

Sunscreen Roller Blinds

Keep the view, lose the glare. These blinds filter sunlight to reduce UV damage while keeping your interiors naturally bright. These are ideal for living areas where you want to enjoy the scenery without having to compromise on comfort.

Our sunscreen fabric range we use is called Aventus from Shaw NZ, it comes in two percentages – 10% blocks 90% of the uv rays and gives a nice clean look to the outside. Perfect for a place with a view. The 5% blocks 95% of the UV rays and is better suited for a sunnier window where you want to block a bit more of the sun but still be able to see outside.

Blockout Roller Blinds

Say goodbye to stray light interrupting your sleep or screen time. Blockout blinds are precision-crafted for total darkness, making them a must for bedrooms, nurseries, or media rooms. Because uninterrupted sleep and clarity matter.

Our standard blockout roller blind range is from the VIBE range from Shaw – this fabric has been around for 30 years and its a fabric that lasts.

Thermal Roller Blinds

Winter chills or summer heatwaves? Our thermal blinds have you covered. Designed to insulate your home, they help maintain a comfortable temperature year-round while reducing energy costs. Practical and efficient, they’re the quiet achievers keeping your home snug in winter and refreshingly cool in summer.

We have three different thermal blockout fabrics to choose from. Edge is a new clean linen look with a similar colour thermal backing. Le Reve has a stronger weave pattern with a similar colored thermal backing. Linesque is top of the line fabric with a white thermal backing to the fabric.

light filtering Roller Blinds

Do you want privacy and also let some light through? Light filtering roller blinds are perfect for a living area, dining room or hallway where you have large open doors or windows where you want a bit of privacy but don’t want to block out all the light.

Our Light filtering range is the Le Reve or Linesque light filtering.

Motorised Roller Blinds

Effortlessly elegant, these blinds add convenience to your day. With a remote or app control, you can adjust light and privacy without lifting a finger. Perfect for hard-to-reach windows or simply indulging in a touch of luxury.

Components

Our component range has been going for 10 years without a hitch. We have four base colours for the Side winders/Chains and brackets. These are: White, Off white, Black and Grey. We do also have stainless steel chains and silver bottom rails to match.
We have two types of bottom rails:

D30 bottom rail is a new rail that is a powder-coated aluminum base bar. It's designed to look elegant while having a great design where it gives the fabric a bit of room to move freely on the inside when the temperature fluctuates. The D30 has two upgrade options: plastic tubing on the back to minimize sounds and a black fluff on the bottom to help stop the light coming in while also dampening sounds. 
Our heavy-duty fabric insert bottom rail has been around for a while. It's also powder-coated aluminum with a fabric insert. We use the same fabric of your blind.

Out of stock fabrics

We do hold supply of Vibe (Blockout) and Aventus (Sunscreen), but some times our supplier can run out of these fabrics. Once your order is placed, we make sure there is enough fabric for your job. If there is not, we then order some in. If our supplier has run out of that fabric or there is a delay – we will notify you straight away. This is the only thing that would affect the manufacturing of your blinds.

All samples are free freight and are usually sent the day after ordering – Sending on weekdays only.

• North Island Rural: $20 for under 1450mm wide (Goes via NZ Post) – $100 for over (Goes via transport)

• South Island Urban: $20 for under 2300mm wide (Goes via Aramex) – $100 for over (Goes via transport)

• South Island Rural: $25 for under 1450mm wide (Goes via NZ post) – $140 for over (Goes via transport)

Your order will be delivered by courier to your requested destination. You need to ensure that the destination is suitable for courier access and has sufficient space to take the delivery, otherwise the courier will need to hold your delivery at the courier depot. Your signature will not be required unless you request it. Blinds will be individually wrapped in a plastic sleeve and delivered in a ridged cardboard shipping tube. Please consider the environment when disposing of the delivery packaging. You will be notified when your order is started at the factory and then when your order is dispatched.

Please note, on blinds larger than 2.4m wide, they are likely to be delivered by a transit truck.

Returns

As the blinds were custom-made just 4U we cannot accept returns. Please follow the instruction on measuring and installation, so your blinds meet your expectations. For warranty work, Blinds4U will arrange pickup and return.

Couriers

We now use Aramex and Daily Freight for all our courier needs.
If your order is small and under 2.4m wide – this will go via Aramex (See here for ETA’s of deliveries for different areas)
If you have a large order or a blind over 2.4m wide – this will go via a transport truck on Daily Freight.
You can ask for the blinds to be picked up from the courier’s local depot if you require your blinds quicker 🙂 – Just put this into the checkout notes.

Omg why Aramex!?

As a company that sells long items, we don’t have many options. We would love to use NZ post or New Zealand Couriers, but they can only take parcels that are up to 1.5m wide – a lot of our products end up being around 2m to 2.4m wide so we cannot use these companies. If we did, we would have to use transport companies a lot more, and it makes the base price to send one item $100.
We have tried other companies that also can-do items up to 2m wide, but they were losing a lot of items which lead to customers getting their blinds delayed as we would have to re-make these.
Surprisingly Aramex has been great with all our deliveries, on average they are getting delivered faster and less missing parcels than our previous courier.

Courier damages

Please inspect your blinds thoroughly once you have received them. Due to the nature of the blinds being wide and skinny, these are more prone to courier damages.
We require proof of damage within 7 days, and we can claim these back and get new ones made. If you notify us of damages AFTER 7 days and it looks like courier damage, we cannot replace it.

Signs of damage and examples
1) Bent tubing – Your blinds won't sit well in the window
2) End caps coming off – Your blinds may have slid out of the tube and will be damaged on the end
3) Forklift damages holes along the tube.

Any of our blinds can be motorised – You can select to have them motorised now or you can upgrade in the future.

A-Ok Motors

The A-Ok is our own imported motor that is made at A-Ok- this company makes all of the motors for the leading brands of motorization for rollers.

Features:

• Built-in Bluetooth Capability: The A-Ok motor comes with Bluetooth, enabling seamless control via the “Tuya Smart” app, available for download on both the Play Store and App Store.

• Motor Head: The motor head is available exclusively in white. While white brackets are typically supplied, we offer the option of coloured brackets to suit your preferences.

• Cord-Free Design: There are no visible cords on the A-Ok motors, ensuring a sleek and clean look.

• Charging: The motor is powered by a built-in rechargeable LI-ION battery, which charges via a USB-A to USB-C cable. A typical charge lasts for approximately 600 cycles (around 300 up-and-down motions for a medium-sized blind).

• Battery Specifications:

  • Battery Size: 3000 mAh

  • IP Rating: IP44 (protected from water splashes)

  • Charging Type: USB-C

• Speed: 28 rpm, providing smooth operation for your roller system.

We are a family run business that is located in Takanini, Auckland.

We have been around for nearly 30 years having serviced mainly the Auckland area. Blinds4u is now our Online DIY website to help save you money by buying direct from the manufacture and not having any of the added costs of sales reps and installers.

We use the latest components/fabrics and motors when we manufacture our blinds. Our ranges change to stay up to date with current fabric trends.

We manufacture everything in our own factory that is available online to order. Apart from 25mm Aluminium Venetians which come from another local supplier in Auckland.
