FitRight Guarantee

Measured wrong? It happens. We are the factory, so we will simply make your blind again in the corrected size, free. That is our FitRight Guarantee, and it comes with every order automatically. There is nothing to add at checkout and nothing extra to pay for the cover.

How it works

  • Tell us within 30 days of your order arriving.
  • Fill in the claim form below with your corrected measurements and a photo of the blind at your window. (Prefer email? [email protected] works too.)
  • We remake the blind in the new size and send it out. You keep the original, there is nothing to send back.

The fair use rules

  • One free remake per blind, and up to 4 remade blinds per customer in any 12 months.
  • The corrected size must be within 10cm of the original width and drop. Swapped width and drop measurements always qualify.
  • The remake is the same product, fabric and colour as the original. (Not sure about a colour? Order our free samples first, that is what they are for.)
  • If the corrected size moves the blind into a higher price, you pay the difference. Smaller costs you nothing.
  • Shipping on the remake is charged at cost. Blinds are long parcels, so freight depends on the size and where you live; we pass on exactly what the courier charges us.
  • Covers standard size orders for your own home. Excludes samples, accessories, motors, and commercial or bulk orders.

What a normal fit looks like

Every blind has fittings at each end, so parts of the blind are a little narrower than the size you order. This is true of every blind made anywhere, and it is not a fault. Here are our exact numbers, so you know before you order exactly what will arrive:

Product Width Drop
Roller blinds (chain or motorised) The fabric is about 34mm narrower than the width you order (about 17mm each side). The brackets and mechanism fill that space, so the blind as a whole fits the width you gave us. Made with spare fabric on the roll, so no visible difference.
Timber and PVC venetians Slats are 10mm narrower than the ordered width (5mm each side). The fascia you see from the room is close to full width. When closed, the bottom rail sits 3 to 5mm clear of the sill on purpose, so it never rubs and damages your sill.
25mm aluminium venetians Slats are 7mm narrower (3.5mm each side). The same 3 to 5mm sill clearance when closed.
Vertical blinds 3mm allowance on the headrail. Louvres finish 3 to 5mm clear on an inside fit, and 5 to 10mm clear on an outside fit.
Thermalite shutters Made with a 2 to 4mm allowance on the smallest of the measurements you give. If your window bows a little, there can be bigger gaps around the frame: a Z frame hides window imperfections, while an L frame may need a bead of sealant run down the sides, which is a normal installer step.

Our cutting tolerance is 1 to 2mm, which is tighter than the industry standard of plus or minus 3mm. The FitRight Guarantee covers a blind that does not fit the window you measured. It does not cover the normal fit characteristics above, because they are how a correctly made blind is meant to arrive.

Make a claim

Have your order number handy (it is in your confirmation email) and use the email address you ordered with.

Corrected sizes in millimetres. One row per blind that needs remaking; the first row is enough for a single blind.

If we got it wrong

None of the limits above apply to our mistakes. If we made your blind in the wrong size, or it arrives faulty or freight damaged, we fix it free, always, under your normal Consumer Guarantees Act rights. The FitRight Guarantee is extra cover on top, for the mistakes that are yours.

Need help measuring? Our how to measure guides take about two minutes per window, and the most common mistake (swapping width and drop) is covered by FitRight anyway.
